Survey

Surveys are always really neat to use when you are trying to get opinions but without all the words and rude comments. When I did my survey I started out by doing my question as "What are impact's of having tattoo's in the workplace?". I did 8-9 questions and I tried to keep them pretty general to where not a lot of people could give me their rude comments if they didn't agree. Looking at my results I found that a lot more women were drawn to this survey than men, out of 16 people that did my survey 11 were women and 5 were men.

From all the people that did my survey, I had 14 in the age group of 18-24, 1 in the age group of 25-34, and 1 in the age group of 45-54. Half of the people who took my survey think visible tattoos are ok, 31 percent said they loved them, 12 percent strongly disliked them, and 6 percent said they didn't have an opinion. When I asked what types of tattoos do you like my class responded with mostly meaningful, hidden, and art. My class would say the purpose of a tattoo is 56 percent art, 25 percent honorary, and 6 percent self-awareness.

I then went on by asking if they had tattoos for the reason of knowing if they say these things because they do, don't, or will never get a tattoo. My results for that question would be 25 percent said yes, 62 percent said no, and 12 percent said I don't want any. I then closed my survey with two more questions asking about their work. I wanted to know if their work allowed visible tattoos.

I got 68 percent that said yes, 18 percent said no, and 12 percent said I don't work. My next question I asked how the employer should respond to visible tattoos. My results were, 18 percent said they should allow them in all job fields, 6 percent said they shouldn't let anyone show them, 75 percent said they should allow aesthetic or job appropriate tattoos.

The information has brought me to the conclusion that in our class we have a lot more women drawn the attention of tattoos. It is hard to figure out what gender liked which question but I can see that a lot more people that are in the age group of 18-40 like or have some interest in tattoos. We see a lot of younger people having more tattoos nowadays so that makes total sense but I know from my work area I get a lot of customers that are older than 40 that comment on my tattoo and tell me it is beautiful, which leads me to the
next part.

I got that a lot of people like meaningful or art tattoos which make a lot of sense also because of a lot of tattoos nowadays are about family, friends that have passed or even children, maybe even your pets. We also get the tattoos that have art. For example, I have a tattoo on my hand and my arm it is a flower tattoo, it doesn't mean anything but I thought it was pretty so I got it. I would consider my tattoo as being art. I couldn't help but think that most these people dislike tattoos link to the ones that don't want tattoos to be visible, I just wanna know why and what is their reasoning behind it. How is it affecting them?
